My wife, Jess, and I spent the day helping my parents repaint the walls and baseboards in their home. Due to the mess I had made, I leaned on my wife quite a bit to make this photograph. She set up the lighting with my construction and calculated exposure with my assitance. The composition is all her.

For someone who has only been ice skating once (and even then, I used a hocket stick to hold myself up) and can count the number of times he’s been roller skating on one hand, I did pretty good.

It’s getting colder and colder each night this time of year. With no daylight hours available to me on weekdays, and the outside air being too cold to stand in without a jacket, gloves, a hat, and a bright red nose, I may have to confine myself to indoors and studio work on weekdays until the weather warms up.

This photograph in particular had me standing for 8 seconds trying my best not to convulse as the cold air ate through my skin. A jacket would have been nice.
