They say that nothing good happens after 4am. Maybe that’s true most of the time but it certainly wasn’t the case for my night last Friday that didn’t end until just after 6am.

7 days has turned into 10. While I endured over 3 weeks less than a year ago (was it really that soon?) it doesn’t make it any easier this time, nor, I doubt, the next.

Hurricane Ike devistated much of the Texas Coast, especially the Bolivar Peninsula south of Houston. Just neat Port Bolivar this hotel, now abandoned, shows signs of the hurricane’s destruction.

I spent the day driving to Galveston for a quick weekend getaway. I arrived at the Tremont House too late to enjoy any of the sights, so instead I drank up the nightlife.

Playsilks are wonderful things. My daughter uses them as pretend food, blankets, jackets, friends, hats, and now, superhero capes.
