Arranging Light

In the busy bump of day-to-day everything, every now and then you run into something special. It takes you by surprise, fills your life with joy, and sets you on a new and more incredible course. From the very first day that I met my beautiful bride, my life has been one incredible surprise after another — an entire train lined up with colorful little packages, all for me.

Taken at Ocean View Beach in Norfolk, VA.

This was taken at night, on a very dark night, with a point and shoot digital camera. The light you see is coming from the parking area behind the beach. The screen on the camera was useless for lining the shot up since it was so dark so I had to just put in a couple of good guesses.

I think the grain/noise inherent in long exposures from small digital cameras really adds to the feel of this image.
