Rows of Silence

Rows of grave markers at the National Cemetary near Dallas, TX.

My dad is at DFW National Cemetary. When you go in, there's a pavilion with the directory and bathrooms and stuff on the right.

He's maybe 7-10 rows back, directly across the drive from the pavillion.

He originally wanted to be cremated, but he didn't have much money towards the end. He decided to use his veteran's benefits and will it such that he was buried there, so he wouldn't be a burden on anyone. Granted, he was very proud of having been in the Navy, so it wasn't a bad choice, but I would have paid for his cremation if he's not made that change.
